"Greetings from Elyria, Ohio"
History of Elyria
Pioneers from Massachusetts began building
the settlement of Elyria in 1816, when the United States was only 40 years old.
Settlers followed an old Indian trail along an ancient Lake Erie beach ridge - present day
Cleveland Street - till they came to the two 40-foot falls on the Black River.
Come explore Elyria as it was 30, 50, and 100 years ago!
